Mini Sheepadoodle

The Sheepadoodle, also known as a Sheep-a-poo, Sheeppoo, Sheepdogpoo, Sheepdogdoodle, or a Sheepapoo, is a mixed breed between an Old English Sheepdog and a Poodle. Whatever name you choose to use, they are definitely adorable. Affectionate, fun-loving, and devoted, the Mini Sheepadoodle is wonderful for families or even single person households. However, due to the Old English Sheepdog’s tendency to herd, they may utilize that instinct with children. Regardless, they do get along very well with children and love the attention a child would give them. The Mini Sheepadoodle does need a great deal of exercise to burn off all its energy, the minimum would be 30 minutes a day, with lots of playtime and fetch as well. They are very intelligent, protective, sensitive and make great therapy or emotional support dogs. Because they are so sensitive they can suffer from separation anxiety if left alone for too long. They do get along well with other animals as long as they have early training and socialization. Because they are so intelligent it is important to also give them a lot of mental stimulation as well. This lively and exuberant breed is easy to train, and would do well with first time dog owners. The Mini Sheepadoodle is typically 15-22 inches high, usually weighs 10-55 pounds, and has a lifespan of 13-16 years. All of these statistics are dependent on what type of poodle the Old English Sheepdog was bred with, whether a Miniature Poodle or a Toy Poodle. This is a great breed for those with allergies due to being a low shedder, as well as having a Poodle parent. The Mini Sheepadoodle's coat is usually long, and can be curly, straight, or wavy. Their coat is typically black and white, all black, or even gray, and needs to be brushed 2-3x/week to avoid matting, and groomed every eight weeks. It is also important that their ears are kept clean, and nails trimmed 1-2x/month. As with most dogs it is vital to maintain good oral dental health. The Mini Sheepadoodle is basically a healthy breed and with regular veterinary visits and care, they should live long and healthy lives.

Each dog breed can be prone to develop certain diseases or conditions, be sure to research your specific breed before making a purchase to ensure you´re prepared for any challenges that may arise.
